How to Find Your Inner Glow This Season
A peek inside my journal + the treasure map to show you how to return to yourself
One day can change how you see everything.
Not through some grand revelation, but through the simple act of paying attention to what's already glowing in your life.
Every day hides treasure. Tiny glimmers of magic surround us, and our team of helpers journey beside us. Most of the time, we don't notice. The latest kerfuffle captures our attention while robbing us of hope—a planned distraction meant to numb us and render us inactive.
What if, instead of doomscrolling our way through another day or giving up, we go on a daily treasure hunt for our inner resolve, clarity, and glow?
Below is a page straight from my journal—the messy, real, unfiltered version of how I'm learning to find light even when I'm tired, feeling behind, or heart-weary. This is Glowback™ Summer in action.
✨ Glimmers — Planting Sparkles in Your Plans
I got up before the pain could catch me.
That was the plan. Not to outrun it forever, but to meet the day before it could tighten around my spine.
Sun Salutations greeted me on the mat—new stretches, new breath, a whisper of mobility I almost forgot I could have. Then a walk with my husband through the waking neighborhood. Cooler air, softer light. My favorite kind of still-beautiful.
We saw life in motion:
Five rabbits in the shady grass, the most we’ve counted this season
A snapping turtle parting the lake’s shallower waters, stirring up breakfast
A fledgling bird on the walking path, unsure of its wings. We stood guard until it flew-hopped into the grass for safety.
A deer and her fawns in the backyard, watching over her children, especially the one with the zoomies that we saw a few days ago.
Birdsong and the sun’s morning brilliance stitched the scene into a tapestry.
🌒 Facing the Shadows
Spiritual bypassing would have me ignoring a growing to-do list and wishing for a fairy godmother to do all the unwanted tasks. Courage looks like doing both. What I did:
Read the news so I can control the amount and vet the sources
Called our senator to thank him for his vote, because I sure let him know when I disagree with his major ones
Made the caretaking calls for my mom
Mixed the pasta salad early so it’d have time to soak up the dressing for dinner
Procrastinated by writing vignettes and posts until I calmed down my imposter syndrome and perfectionism around my novel, the first in a series
Finally, worked on the BHAG project, bridging scenes and story arcs
Nothing Instagram-worthy. Just real life at the computer and on the phone.
🕊️ Spiritual Inspiration - What do I need to know today?
My sources vary. Today, I turned to an oracle deck to see how to deepen July’s path for myself and my clients.
"Chant." Sing aloud, with a brave voice, to inspire others to lift their voices.
How?
"Pegasus." Step off the cliff. Pegasus’ wings will rise to meet you so you don’t fall.
Of particular note for Pegasus: This path matters. It may be one of the most important steps of my life. It’s time to take that first step now. So here I am.
🌿 Gratitude List of 3
What you focus on grows. "Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.” - Melody Beattie
Today I saw and appreciated:
The different sets of deer: the doe and young male with the fuzzy antlers near the lake, and the protective doe watching her twin fawns in our backyard, running off energy with the zoomies.
The gray and brown cardinal fledgling sitting on the black asphalt of the walking path, and the patience my hubby and its mom had while I tried to figure out how to get it into the grass (it jumped and fluttered to safety)
The regular phone conversations I have now with my mom, after last year’s strokes, aphasia, and other complications. I remember telling my aunt, “I wish I could have regular conversations with her again.” Wish/prayers granted.
✨ Offerings to Brighten the World
My philosophy: Leave everything better than you found it, if you can. These are my offerings, to myself and others.
✍️Pause. Catch. Keep for your joy collection - I added 15 items to this week’s gratitude list before 9 am on Monday. When I’m having a rough start, I can imagine that I can find at least three things to be thankful for on any day.
💌 Soulful Outreach - I texted hellos, wishes, and shared photos to let friends and family know I was thinking of them and wishing them a good week on an ordinary Monday.
🙏 Prayers & Spiritual Holding - I said my prayers for those on my prayer list in quiet moments, from early morning wakings until my last waking moments before sleep.

(Disappointment / Realistic Assessment) I didn’t chase my biggest writing project as fiercely as I’d hoped today.
(Positive Action Assessment – Nothing Is Wasted) But I did tend the sacred fires and quiet altars of my life—as a priestess of joy, caretaker, a spirit warrior, and a steward of what matters.
(Conclusion / Connection of Threads) Maybe that’s how the new path the card hinted at begins— not all at once, but note by note.
(Promise / Recommitment) Tomorrow, I’ll return to the page and add more words to help my best creative fiction take flight. I’m building a future on the wings of connection, creativity, joy, and the quiet power of walking between worlds.
So, what do you think? Ready to glow and glimmer with me?
I’d love to get feedback. Feel free to share.
